Brainstorming Session on Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) on Road Safety

Road traffic safety refers to methods and measures for reducing the risk of a person using the road network for being killed or seriously injured. The users of a road include pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, their passengers, and passengers of on-road public transport, mainly buses and trams. 

 

  

        A session on the subject was organized by NTRC, Ministry of Communications on mainstreaming Road Safety Issues  on Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) countries. The session was attended by Mr. Aurangzaib Haq Additional Secretary Mrs. Amna Imran, Joint Secretary Ministry of Communications, along with Asian Development Bank (ADB) team in Auditorium of NTRC ON 18th November, 2015.

 

            Deliberations were made on the subject of Road Safety with specific reference to transit routes of Central Asian Republics (CARs) Road Traffic in Pakistan. It was agreed that a joint setup of NTRC, Ministry of Communications and Asian Development Bank (ADB) would be established with respect to Road Safety.
